What is the Hymen?
The hymen is of Latin origin and is called “Hymen”. Simultaneously, the hymen is the name announced to the god of marriage in Greek mythology. The hymen is defined as a thin and fleshy membrane tissue surrounding or partially surrounding the external vaginal opening. Women who undergo the procedure usually do so to cause the hymen to bleed when broken through during sexual intercourse, which some cultures consider to be proof of virginity. What Should You Know About Hymenoplasty?
Hymenoplasty takes 30 and 60 minutes on average under normal conditions. Full recovery after the hymen surgery is between 4 and 6 weeks. It is possible to return to daily life in 1-2 days. Although there are no significant risks in the hymen repair procedure, swelling and bleeding can be seen. It should not be forgotten that it is the restoration of the thin membrane in the vagina. The vagina should not be perceived as tightening.
